6th Class Mark Safer Internet Day 2026

6th Class recently took part in Safer Internet Day 2026, exploring the theme “AI Aware: Safe, Smart and in Control.” Using resources from Webwise, pupils examined how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used in many of the apps and platforms young people interact with every day.

The class discussed both the benefits and risks of AI, including deepfakes, fake news, AI-generated images and misleading chatbot advice. A strong focus was placed on critical thinking, encouraging pupils to Stop, Think and Check before trusting online content.

To showcase their learning, each pupil created an individual A5 poster for our display. Their work included “AI: Friend or Fooler?” reflections and “My 5 AI Rules” shield designs outlining practical steps for staying safe and in control online.

We are very proud of the maturity and awareness shown by 6th Class as they continue to develop as safe, smart and responsible digital citizens.
